The final event of South Africa’s biggest triathlon series, the BSG Energade TriSeries, took on the 4th of December in Vanderbijlpark. The 2011 BSG Energade TriSeries was more popular than ever with almost 6000 race participants competing in 7 events that took place across the country during October, November and December.
Blind athlete and BSG Brand Ambassador Hein Wagner will take on the Spec Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa (also known as the Half Ironman) in East London this weekend. This is part of Hein’s journey to compete in the 2012 Kona World Championships and the Paralympics in London later this year.

The final event of the 2011 BSG Energade Triseries takes place at Emerald Casino in Vanderbijlpark this Sunday, the 4th of December. Race organisers are expecting a packed field as entries for the Main Series reached maximum capacity on Tuesday – an outstanding testimony to the growth of interest in the sport.
Schools, tertiary institutions and corporates continued to rack up points at the penultimate event of the 2011 BSG Energade Triseries which took place in Worcester over the weekend. All contenders will be making a final bid to secure points at the upcoming final event in order to be crowned overall winners in the 2011 Triseries Challenge.
Andrea Steyn (Team BSG) continued her winning streak making it six out of six, while in the Elite Men’s category Richard Murray (Team BSG) takes another gold and is now in prime position to claim the overall title for the 2011 BSG Energade Triseries.
The penultimate event of the 2011 BSG Energade Triseries will be taking place this Sunday the 20th of November at Brandvlei Dam in Worcester. The starting line will consist of at least 489 participants in the Main Series and over 84 young triathletes in the Kids Series. Organisers have confirmed that they will be accepting on the day entries between 6:00 – 7:00 (a late entry levy will apply for all on the day entries).
