2011 BSG Energade Kids Triathlon Series

Promoting having fun through exercise and getting children active is the name of the game when it comes to the BSG Energade Kids Triathlon Series, which has become the biggest sporting Series in the country for children. At the 2011 BSG Energade Kids Triathlon Series, powered by Jungle Bar, each participant was a winner and received a medal, T-shirt and a goodie bag filled with fun stuff!

In 2011, we made an exciting change to the distances and gave the older kids a more challenging distance to conquer! We also received such positive feedback from parents after splitting the old 9-14 age group into two races in order to give more children the opportunity to be recognised, that we continued with those changes in 2011. In addition, all 15 year old children were eligible to enter in the Main Series in the Junior category, which was a great opportunity for young and upcoming triathletes to race competitively.

The Series was held at seven venues throughout South Africa, on various Sunday mornings between October and December 2011, with kids competing in the swim, cycle and run disciplines either as individuals, or as members of a team of two or three.

Safety was always a top priority for the organisers who have plenty of experience in hosting triathlon events and they ensured that children competed in a secure environment with controlled access, secure routes and plenty of lifeguards and marshals.
