BSG Elite Team

The BSG Elite Triathlon Team is made up of 7 world class athletes, 2 of whose endurance has already led them to the Beijing Olympics in 2008. With London 2012 just around the corner, BSG is really excited at the prospect of having 3 members of the team participating at the Olympic Games next year. These determined athletes will be competing locally in the BSG/Energade Triathlon Series, 11 Global International Triathlons, Joburg City Triseries, Momentum I-Flex Duathlon Series, 2011 South Africa & and All Africa Championships. In addition members of the team will also be racing internationally in European cup and championship events, as well as World cup and World championship races, both to build on experience and obtain points towards 2012 Olympic qualification.

Not only is the BSG Elite Team about competing at the highest level, but it is committed to giving back to the sport through the establishment of a development squad of potential future professional triathletes, as well as running triathlon clinics to further identify potential talent across the full cultural spectrum within South Africa. Currently BSG is proud to announce that there are 4 members currently in the development squad, all aged bewteen 12-14 years. The Team also continues to host triathlon clinics at the LEAP Maths and Science schools in Cape Town and Johannesburg, which supports BSG's corporate social responsibility focus in the area of education. These clinics further encourage scholars assisted by their sport coaches, to compete in the BSG Energade Triathlon Series, thereby using the sport of triathlon coupled with education, to bridge across the racial boundaries in South Africa.
